Homegrown Fort Collins is a month long celebration of our local food and agricultural roots. We hope you'll join us at the following Homegrown Fort Collins events! Battle of the Burners - Sept. 25, 2010: Six well known local chefs compete for best first, second, and third course using locally sourced ingredients. Attendees will enjoy plates of all six of the chefs’ creations, each paired with a great local beer. Adventures in Food - Sept. 18, 2010: Join Chef David Daggett, owner of Tastebuds Epicurean Café, as he teaches you how to prepare the locally sourced, multi-course meal he’ll be serving you for dinner. Chef Happy, Scott Hapner, will cook lunch with your kids at Youth Adventures in Food. Downtown Tasting Tours - Sept. 10-26, 2010: Eighteen downtown restaurants offer custom menus highlighting foods prepared by local chefs, featuring locally sourced ingredients. PARTNER EVENTS: Sustainable Living Fair - Sept. 18-19, 2010: Featuring nationally acclaimed speakers, 250 exhibitors, and more than 50 workshops and demonstrations. |
HOMEGROWN VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIESIf your interested in volunteering during Homegrown Fort Collins, please fill out and submit the form below. Description of events needing volunteers: Sustainable Living Fair Booth: Enjoy the Sustainable Living Fair while sitting in the shade of the Beet Street Homegrown booth. Job responsibilities include set-up and take-down, promoting Homegrown Fort Collins through marketing materials, and selling tickets to Homegrown events using an on-site computer. Youth Adventures in Food: Children ages 5 and up can join Beet Street and a local chef as they learn how to prepare healthy, locally sourced and fun lunch box foods. Volunteer job responsibilities include assisting the chef and children with cooking. Adventures in Food: A local chef will teach attendees how to prepare the locally sourced, multi-course meal he’ll be serving you. Volunteer job responsibilities include set-up and take-down, serving food and decor set-up. Battle of the Burneres: Six local chefs compete for best first, second and third course using locally sourced ingredients. Volunteer job responsibilities include ticket check-in, assisting brewers kitchen staff and chefs, maintaining the tasting room, and serving food. |
